The Literacy & Numeracy for Adults Assessment Training Tool (LNAAT) is a diagnostic tool that provides a way for tutors to identify your skills in reading and/or math and/or listening, and then, accommodate any identified learning needs, and track your progression.
The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) requires Te Pūkenga NMIT to ensure:
All students enrolled in Level 1–3 courses and programmes complete initial and progress LNAAT assessments for reading and/or numeracy.
ESOL and supported training/vocational studies students complete Starting Points assessments for reading and/or listening.
