The Compulsory Student Services Fee (CSSF) supports a wide range of services designed to enhance your experience at NMIT. These services foster a supportive and inclusive environment, helping students achieve academic success and personal well-being.
What is the CSSF?
The CSSF is a non-tuition fee charged to NMIT students based on their study load (credits). It helps fund student support services and activities as outlined by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC), ensuring services meet the needs of all students while complying with government guidelines.
For 2025, a 6% fee increase has been determined to maintain and improve current service levels.

The fee is subject to annual review, and NMIT actively consults students on how these funds are allocated. Apprentices and trainees can opt out of paying this fee.

In 2023, $347,200 was collected in Compulsory Student Services Fees and $518,800 was distributed against the approved categories:
