How do I get a student ID card?

All eligible students are entitled and issued with a NMIT Student ID card. You can use this card to access services on campus and with selected retailers for student discount. You can request a Student ID from two weeks before the start date of your studies, however it will usually be issued when you first arrive on campus.

Visit the Information and Enrolments team at Nelson campus or the administration office at Marlborough campus to get your ID card.

Provide/Update your Photo

As your Student ID contains your photo, will need to take this at the time of issue. You may wish to know that we store this photo in our student management system and may be used for other internal administrative purposes. If you wish to provide your own photo (especially important if you are studying off campus) then you can email one to us for use. 

We request that the photo conforms to the New Zealand Passport Office requirements

Email the photo file and state your student ID number to enrolments@nmit.ac.nz

A card is valid only in the year of issue, new cards for subsequent years of study will be re-issued on request.
