What if I have an accident?

If you are involved in a serious accident and require urgent medical attention, please go to the Accident and Emergency department at the nearest hospital or call 111 to request an ambulance.

If you'd like support from an NMIT Wellbeing Team member, call 0800 422 733 24/7 for urgent assistance.

For non-emergency situations, please visit your doctor or refer to the list of District Health Boards to find the nearest after-hours duty doctor service.

Accident Insurance Claims

The Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) provides accident insurance for all New Zealand citizens, residents and temporary visitors to New Zealand, but you may still be liable for all other medical and related costs.

For further information, please visit the ACC website.
