How does NMIT decide how the Compulsory Student Services Fee will be spent?

Government regulation prescribes the range of services that NMIT may charge for.

NMIT currently contracts SANITI to provide services for the benefit of NMIT’s students. These Service Level Agreements are negotiated annually with SANITI with reviews based on termly reporting. Where the total fees charged by NMIT exceed the annual services fee payable to SANITI, the organisations collectively agree on how the excess is to be spent.   Weekly meetings are held between NMIT and SANITI. Members of SANITI Executive sit on many of NMIT’s committees, including Academic Board, and working groups. The President of SANITI is involved in the governance of the institute as a member of NMIT Council. Regular Programme Rep meetings are held enabling two-way communication between the student body and NMIT.

Details of how the student services fee has been spent are published in NMIT’s Annual Report.
