Can I extend my library loans / renew my books? - HOW DO I / Library / Library services - NMIT Support

Can I extend my library loans / renew my books?

Yes, you can.

You can renew your Library loans twice (excluding any class set items).

The renewal grants the same amount of time as the initial loan period, i.e. a 3 week item will renew for another 3 weeks, and a 3 Day Loan item another 3 days.

Please note, the loans will be renewed from the date of the renewal (not from the due date).

If there are no pending reservations, Main collection loans can be renewed if they are no more than 7 days overdue and 3 Day Loan collection items can be renewed if they are no more than 1 day overdue.

You can renew loans online up until the due date by signing into your library account via  Catalogue/My Library.

To renew overdue loans, you can choose to:

  • request a renewal by replying to the overdue notice

  • email a renewal request to library@nmit.ac.nz

  • phone the library (03 539-5068), or

  • visit us in person.
