Can I extend my library loans / renew my books? - HOW DO I / Library / Library services - NMIT Support

Can I extend my library loans / renew my books?

Yes, you can.

You can renew most Library loans twice.

The renewal grants the same amount of time as the initial loan period, i.e., a 3-week item will renew for another 3 weeks, and a 3-day item for another 3 days.

Please note that the loans will be renewed as of the renewal date (not the due date).

If there are no pending reservations:

  • Main collection loans can be renewed if they are no more than 7 days overdue.

  • 3-Day Loan collection items can be renewed if they are no more than 1 day overdue.

You can renew books at the Learner Success helpdesk or follow the attached instructions for ways you can self-renew your loans.

If you have difficulty renewing loans;

  • Request a renewal by replying to the overdue notice

  • Email a renewal request to library@nmit.ac.nz

  • Phone the Library (03 539-5068), or

  • Visit the Library in person.

NOTE: You will not be able to borrow items when you have overdue loans. Contact the Library if you need assistance.
