Renting a house in New Zealand can be a good option for some students, but make sure you do your research first.
The New Zealand Now website offers some great advice on renting a house in New Zealand.
When applying for a rental, you will need to take:
- Your passport
- Your letter of "Proof of Study" at NMIT
- If you don't have three months worth of payslips, you will need to show them evidence of your Funds Transfer Scheme (FTS)
- The more evidence you can provide, the better. Bank statements and references may also be useful
Where to look

www.realestate.co.nz (go to rental tab)
www.marlboroughrealestate.co.nz (Marlborough campus only)
Look under the To Let heading in the classified section of the newspaper (normally near the back).
