What are the bring your own device (BYOD) specifications?

Our Information Technology programmes require you to bring your own device/laptop (BYOD) in order to complete your studies.

BYOD specifications for Computing and Information Technology programmes

The following BYOD specifications are required for:

The minimum specifications we require are:

  • Windows 11 Operating System

  • Intel i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 processor

  • 16GB of memory

  • 500GB+ NVMe SSD

  • 1Gbps Ethernet port or purchase an adapter if needed for network courses

  • 802.11n wireless

  • Webcam

Additional Requirements 

128 GB Internal SSD, 2.5"form factor, SATA 3 interface - you will need one or two per course, depending on your course selection.

Can I use an Apple product?

Current NMIT guidelines do not support the use of Apple products for our programmes.

BYOD is not required for Diploma of Animation or Bachelor of Computer-Generated Imagery students:
